Colleagues from The Old Vicarage recently came together to donate essential items, including bottled water and sleeping bags, to help people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Teesside. 
They were also joined by colleagues from SJOG Head Office, who collected crisp packets which are transformed into insulated blankets for people sleeping rough.
To show their appreciation for the incredible work carried out by Nite Light CIC, the team also donated cakes for staff and volunteers to enjoy.
Martin, Support Worker at The Old Vicarage, said: “The cakes were a thank you from all of us at SJOG for everything Nite Light does to help the community. These small acts make a big difference, helping Nite Light continue their mission of supporting people in our community who need it most. I’m proud of our team, proud of our values, and proud to stand alongside organisations making a real impact.”
Founded in 2020, Nite Light CIC supports vulnerable people across the Tees Valley by providing food, hygiene essentials and practical support to those facing hardship or homelessness. Through community outreach, free market stalls and its Pay Forward scheme, the organisation helps ensure people can access life’s basic necessities when they need them most.
By supporting organisations like Nite Light, colleagues at The Old Vicarage are helping to strengthen the communities around them and extend a helping hand to those in need.
At SJOG, this commitment to supporting others is nothing new. For more than 450 years, we have been guided by our mission to do good and be of more help to more people.
We hope this story encourages others to get involved in their local communities and do good, because small acts can make a big difference.
