WAITING

Waiting is the title given to this Advent song, composed by Marie Dunne CHF. It picks up on the theme of waiting and anticipation, so central to the special season of Advent, in preparation for Christmas. This song is part of an album with the same title, which features a number of pieces with an Advent theme.

MAN OF COMPASSION

MAN OF COMPASSIONHymn in honour of Saint John of God was composed by Marie Dunne CHF in 1989 for the 450th anniversary of commencement John’s ministry. The hymn was launched on 8th March of that year, the date on which the Saint John of God Choir (Ireland) was founded. The choir continue to sing together, with Marie as their musical director since 1989.

This newly created video features the original audio of the choir’s performance of the hymn, which is now sung all over the world.

BLESSING OF HOSPITALITY

Blessing of Hospitality composed by Marie Dunne CHF is a special song of blessing which reflects the charism of hospitality of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God. It has and continues to be sung at rituals not only within the Order, but in a variety of settings. The message in the song calls on us both to be at home in the God while opening our hearts to others.

May you find your home in God whose home is in your heart,

May your heart be home to those who suffer in the dark.

IN THEIR MEMORY

In their Memory was composed in 2014 by Marie Dunne CHF to honour in particular members of the Saint John of God family who died from the Ebola virus.  These included Brothers, staff and all who served on the front line in some way or another. Central to the song is the theme Because they loved they did not die in vain.

In more recent times and in light of the Corona Virus pandemic, this video was created to remember those who have died from Covid 19. Once again, the front line workers who lost their lives in the pandemic, are remembered specially.

SHELTER ME

‘Shelter Me’ – is a gentle music chant, offering words of comfort during difficult times. In the last number of months, many have suffered fear, sadness and anxiety during this time of pandemic. Words from this chant ‘Shelter me from storms that pass along the way’ can offer such comfort. This is one of 12 chants from the album SHELTER ME (Reflective Chants of Gentleness and Calm) composed by Marie Dunne CHF. Each of the chants are based on scripture, set to gentle music.
